Audi is getting some good news as the company prepares to roll into 2016. The 2016 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron earned recognition as a leader in sustainable propulsion by qualifying as a finalist for the 2016 Luxury Green Car of the Year and 2016 Connected Green Car of the Year awards that will be presented at the Washington Auto Show in January. The awards “recognize vehicles that exhibit laudable environmental achievement,” according to Green Car Journal, which oversees the awards. The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron plug-in hybrid features the most advanced version of the Audi connect platform, which provides the benefits of access to information and content, when needed, through interfaces designed for the in-vehicle environment.
For a combined 204 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, the 2016 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron, which can be found here at Audi of Nashua, comes with a 1.4-liter TFSI engine that delivers 150 horsepower and the liquid-cooled, permanent-magnet-driven electric motor delivers 102 horsepower and nearly instantaneous torque.
The A3 Sportback comes with several excellent features, including a lane control alert. When driving at speeds above 38 miles per hour, the Audi active lane assist system detects when the vehicle begins to leave the lane without signaling. Gentle, corrective steering efforts assist the driver to remain in their lane. Steering wheel vibration also occurs as an additional warning. Additionally, Audi adaptive cruise control with stop & go uses radar and a camera to help detect vehicles in front and maintain a set distance between vehicles. The system helps maintains the set distance and speed by automatically applying the brakes or accelerating.
