Audi struck gold in its Super Bowl commercial showing a retired astronaut become mentally restore after being allowed to hop behind the wheel of the new 2017 Audi R8, billed as the fastest and most powerful Audi production model ever.
The moving commercial shows a saddened retired astronaut surrounded by memorabilia of his days in the space program. You can feel the longing for the days when the retired man was a star. Fortunately the astronaut’s son shows up with a solution to snap his dad out of the funk he was in. He tossed his dad the keys to the new R8. The astronaut slides behind the wheel of the model with the V-10 engine and begins to see his memories of getting into a rocket for a trip to space. As he pilots the “rocket on wheels” under the stars, the astronaut finds a new joy.
