Not only did the 2018 Audi Q5 receive a 5-star rating from the NHTSA, but it earned double safety honors in 2017, making it the most awarded Audi SUV of the year. The NHTSA assessment includes frontal, side and rollover testing to account for the majority of crashes on U.S. roads. These tests were all conducted under the new Car Assessment Program and the overall score is based on frontal and side crash tests, as well as an evaluation of rollover resistance.
Another of our very favorite SUV models, the 2018 Audi Q7 earned a 5-star rating as well, which is the highest possible rating. Both the Audi Q7 and Audi Q5 were also named Top Safety Picks by the IIHS by earning a “Good” rating in all five categories.
