In case you didn’t know, the Formula E series is a class of racing that uses only electric-powered cars. Currently in its third year of racing, the cars in this series are innovative, smooth and fast. As an extension of the Audi brand’s partnership with Team ABT Schaeffler, the Audi Sport will be included in the factory motor sport program next year as well.
Devoted to moving forward with tomorrow’s best technology, the luxury car brand plans to continue contributing to the electric car industry. Being involved in this racing series is simply another method to improve electric-car standards. What better way could there be to test and develop new electric-vehicle technologies than on the race track?
While automaker will be preparing for the 2017-2018 races, this year’s season, 2016-2017, kicks off on October 9. Formula E races will be held in major cities across the world, including the first race of the series in Hong Kong, China and the final two races in New York on July 29 and 30.
According to an Audi spokesman, at least one-fourth of all Audi vehicles will be electric powered by 2025. The first model planned for the program will be an SUV coming out in 2018. Watch for more information later next year for how you can get your hands on this impressive new design.
